Our adventure continued back into the USA via the Detroit, Michigan border and on into Toledo, Ohio where we spent six days at the Black Swamp Bird Observatory and the Black Swamp Birdfair. The next part of our trip took us through Maryland past Baltimore and back into Delaware, visiting Prime Hook NWR and the Dupont Nature Centre and also Henlopen State Park. We drove through West Virginia into Virginia to Shenandoah NP and the iconic Blue Ridge Mountains where we spent a few days at Big Meadows exploring Skyline Drive and the surrounding area, making sure we had a short walk on the Appalachian Trail.
On our return to Delaware we spent a night in New Jersey birding at Cape May and surrounding area. The last leg of this wonderful adventure was to board the Amtrak train from Delware to Penn Station New York City.
